Middle School & High School Students
As fully active members of the congregation, our youth are invited to partner in serving on committees, assisting in worship, assisting with children’s ministries and more. Additionally, we offer regular opportunities for gathering that may be for social purposes, fundraising, spiritual growth, serving, and more.
Some of our anticipated events for the 2023-2024 school year include:
Fall: Outdoor social gathering (Met at Lake Farm Park in October)
December: MMSD Christmas Project
Christmas Program *Family/multigenerational event!
Winter: Sledding outing
Winter: Youth Dinner & Show Fundraiser
February: Sub Sale Fundraiser for Annual Meeting
Spring Youth Led Worship Planning

June 1 & 2- Celebration of High School Graduates & Youth Led Worship
July 13- July 21 ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans
August 12-15 serving as crew leaders & volunteers for Vacation Bible School *Family/multigenerational event!

Alex Thorseson Legacy Foundation Scholarship
Thanks to the generosity of two Midvale members who wanted to leave a legacy gift, Midvale Community Lutheran Church students have the opportunity to apply for one or both of the following opportunities:
1) The Florence & Harold Wetzel memorial scholarship in the amount of up to $2000 for one individual or shared amongst several. This is open to all graduating high school seniors who are members of Midvale Community Lutheran Church.
2) The Marion & Alex Thoresen memorial scholarship in the amount of up to $1000 is open to all students pursuing post-secondary education for the fall of 2024 who are members of Midvale Community Lutheran Church.
