Eleanor Mertzenich
Eleanor is a Luther College graduate who studied viola and music education, and spent a semester in Germany to complete a German minor. She serves as the orchestra director at Sun Prairie High School where she has taught since 2017. A native of the Chicago suburbs, she has also lived and taught in Storm Lake, Iowa and Appleton, Wisconsin. Her husband Aaron also played viola in the Luther College Symphony, and is a web developer. Eleanor and Aaron enjoy traveling, coffee, attending musicals and symphony concerts, and love sharing their home with their beloved cat, Hazel.
Eleanor has played handbells off and on since her freshman year in high school, and enjoyed serving as a member of the Midvale handbell choir prior to moving to the director position.
