What does this mean? The Bible and the Reformation

Sunday, October 8, 2017 - 9:15am

We welcome back Troy Troftgruben for another Adult Ed session. In this 500th anniversary year of the Reformation, we celebrate how Luther's reading of the New Testament was both liberating and transformative, and Dr. Troftgruben will share his insights on how Luther changed our understanding of our relationship with God through his revolutionary reading of the Bible. Dr. Troftgruben, Professor of New Testament at Wartburg Seminary, had studied Luke/Acts as part of his Ph.D. studies prior to several years of parish service in North Dakota, eventually joining the Wartburg Seminary faculty. Dr. Troftgruben has written By Heart: Conversations with Martin Luther's Small Catechism and is working on a book on early church communities.
