It is with sadness and great reluctance that I am announcing my retirement as Visitation Pastor at Midvale Community Lutheran Church. Recent health issues have made me realize my age! It has been such a joy to serve here. I can think of no better way to end 54 years of ordained ministry. This church family has been a true blessing to me. My work here has invigorated and inspired me. It has been wonderful to work with Pastor Katie and Pastor Blake and this whole church staff. The friendships and relationships made here will stay with me and continue to bless me.
This is a very special church family. There are so many faithful and gifted servants here. There is a spirit moving here that draws people to the Good News of Jesus. It is exciting to be a part of it.
We are not going anywhere! Mary and I will continue our membership here and will find new opportunities to serve. As E.M. Forster once wrote, “We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us!”
Thank you to all who have blessed me with your friendship.
